The youth exchange program conducted by the Rotary clubs of Pune Central and the Rotary Club of Kandy provided a wealth of opportunities for multi cultural interaction.

The program commenced formally with the Rotaract meeting with the Rotaractors of the Bharati Vidya Peeth College and Rotaract Clubs of Kandy and Peradeniya. The meeting itself was a rich experience with Rotaractors from Pune and Sri Lanka exchanging each others cultural inclinations.

The program proceeded with the visit to the Balaji Temple and Dinner with the Rotaractors of Bharati Vidya Peeth. During the days to follow places of cultural and historical interests like the Kelkar Museum Saras Bag and Shanivar wada were visited. A further dimension was added to the program with a visit to Pune’s industrial park which included a visit to the Milton Plastic manufacturing plant.

The factory visit was supplemented with an interactive lecture on 5S and other recent development in management science.

Other salient features of the program included the visit to the Osho Ashram which is a highly modernized meditation center based on meditation techniques unique to India.  The  program was concluded with the visit to the scenic hill station at Lonavala.
